Chris’ book The Robot Century \u2013 Robots, AI, Our Possible Futures<\/strong><\/a> (2026, Hyper Press) is perhaps the best and most comprehensive book on robots yet published.<\/p>\n

The 565-page book (featuring over 100 photographs), which is available in paperback and full-colour hardback editions, features interviews with CEOs, technologists, academics, analysts, investors, sceptics, and cultural commentators, and shares dozens of case studies \u2013 both good and bad.<\/p>\n

\u2022 In 2019, Chris produced a detailed policy report on robotics and AI for Innovate UK, on the back of an expert mission to the US alongside some of the UK’s leading academics and entrepreneurs in this field.<\/em><\/p>\n

Chris has appeared many times on radio and TV \u2013 on BBC1, ITN, Radio 2, Radio 5Live, Talk Radio, and BBC local stations \u2013 being interviewed live on air about robotics and AI. He has also been quoted in the national press, including The Sun and Evening Standard newspapers.<\/p>\n

Chris is an experienced public speaker, presenter, and conference chair\/host, who can incorporate real robots into presentations on robotics, AI, automation, and the Internet of Things.<\/p>\n

Chris is consulting editor, and former editor, of one of the UK’s leading tech titles,\u00a0Computing; contributing editor to diginomica<\/a>\u00a0(one million unique visitors); contributing editor to TransformIndustry and TransformFinance; former editor of InternetofBusiness.com; and\u00a0former editor of other top business\/IT titles, including Computer Business Review and Professional Outsourcing (now known as Intelligent Sourcing).<\/p>\n

Over the years, Chris has written for The Guardian, The Times, the Sunday Times, the BBC’s Tomorrow’s World, Computing, Computer Weekly, Citywire, Publishing News, PC World, i-CIO, and many others.<\/p>\n

\"\"During the Noughties, Chris was the author of a number of other books, including Creating Digital Music and Sound<\/em>; The Complete Guide to Digital Audio<\/em>, Instant Graphics<\/em>, and (uncredited) First Steps in Digital Design<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Among other things, Chris is also front man and lead guitarist of Brighton alt-rock band Space Angel, whose albums You Are Next (2023) and DIVE! (2025) will soon be followed by a third, Afterburner (due 2027).<\/p>\n
